"Angel Of Christmas" StartUp Sound
(Stereo Version)

During the Holiday season, why not add a spirited touch to your Mac? The
"Angel Of Christmas" sound is a glorious way to intro a computing
session. It begins with a calming chorus of voices that crescendo in
harmony as deep, rumbling symphonic drums roll to a climactic point as
subtle bells ring throughout the finish.

The "Angel Of Christmas" sound is one of many from the Clixsounds
"Holiday Series" of freeware sounds and can be downloaded from here or

versions.

Subject: [*] Asterbamm 1.0 Space-Combat Game

DOGFIGHT IN A SEA OF ASTEROIDS AND COME HOME A HERO!!!

The dark boulders bear down on your ship. You swing away, scream, and
fire a few potshots -- promising yourself you'll get them on the next
pass. The asteroids can shield you when you need relief from the enemies'
blasts, but hug them too closely and your ship becomes nothing more than
a tiny tin cavity on their cold, scarred surface.

The Asterbamm fleet is our greatest effort to confront an alien enemy
that has a stranglehold over the earth's manifest destiny. The asteroid
field that approaches the alien's front line appears innocent enough, but
with you at the helm of a shadowed space-fighter, they're in for a big
surprise!

With stunning 256 color and black & white graphics, easy to use
interface, digitized sound, and action that never quits, Asterbamm will
entertain you for eons.

Plays on the entire Macintosh line from the Mac Plus to the newest,
including 68040 & PowerPC-based Macs. Accelerated for Power Macs! 1MB
memory for B&W, 2MB for color. PowerMac, PowerBook, AV, Multi-monitor,
and System 7 friendly. 24/32-bit clean. Requires at least System 6.0.2.
Also available with fewer calories.

Our minds, bodies and emotions are governed by three natural cycles, known
as biorhythms. Once we realise how we are affected, we can plan our lives
accordingly, so that we take advantage of our peaks of energy and exercise
special caution on "critical" days.
Biorhythms is now highly acclaimed worldwide, has appeared in a
number of Macintosh magazines, and is generally agreed to be the most
powerful, attractive and original biorhythms program available on any
platform. It supports Apple events and Macintosh Drag and Drop.
Version 6.0c is a substantial upgrade with many improvements and
bug fixes. Use it to analyse your biorhythms, to determine your good and

Buzzing fills your ears as your hive is overrun by invading bees and
hornets, your Macintosh screen buried beneath a carpet of 75+ insects...

This is the demo version of Bumbler, an original action game for the
Power Macintosh. Protect your beehive from attacking bees, hornets, spiders,
armored beetles, and other realistically crawling and flying insects.
Bumbler looks more like something you'd see on a dedicated game system
than on a Macintosh.

The Bumbler demo is less than 550K, even though it looks like it should
be five or six times larger than it is. You could be playing in less than
three minutes.

Charcoal for Kaleidoscope, by Brian V. (prestoy@polaristel.net)
combined the best of Aaron and Eclipse, and was one of the winners in
my totally biased no-holds-barred losers-get-trashed Christmas colour
schemes competition.

Charcoal version 2.0 has the following changes from 1.0 and 1.1:

- Changed both the pushed and unpushed buttons that are at the top of
a window. They now match each other a great deal more. In previous
versions it was a distinct difference.
- Changed the color of the window lines.
- Changed the colors of the resize stripes.
- Changed the color of empty scroll bars. They are now somewhat 3D.
In all earlier versions they were flat and one color.
- Changed the seperators in both menus and the finder. (Still 3D)
- Changed all the accent colors to Charcoal.
(The accent popup's still enabled, though; if you like interface
    consistency you'll keep 1.1 around - L.)
- Changed the scroll bar. (Now a 3D coal)

Subject: [*] CommuniGate Fax Gate 1.9.7

The Fax Gate is a CommuniGate communication module supporting fax messaging.
It converts messages to the fax format and sends them to remote fax machines.
The module can receive incoming faxes and route them as messages to the
recipient(s).

The module is multi-line, i.e. it can support several fax lines
simultaneously.

When installed together with the Voice Gate, the Fax Gate can route incoming
faxes to any recipient (locally or over e-mail), it can implement fax-on-
demand and other fax-center features.

When installed together with the Print Gate, the Fax Gate can automatically
print incoming faxes.

The CommuniGate Fax Gate can also redirect incoming faxes to any Internet
E-mail account or other fax numbers.

The Fax Gate supports Class 2 and Class 2.0 fax modems connected via serial
ports. Make sure that your modem really supports Class 2 or Class 2.0 faxing
before you try it with CommuniGate Fax Gate. Many old fax modms support fax
Class 1 only.

To compose and send messages as faxes, you can use not only the CommuniGator
mailer application, but also the print driver "FaxSender".

Subject: [*] CommuniGate List Gate 1.1

The List Gate is a CommuniGate communication module implementing mailing
lists and message distribution. The module itself maintains lists
information, creating creation?of message digests, and message distribution.
Actual message delivery is implemented with the CommuniGate kernel and
other CommuniGate modules.

Mailing lists used for message distribution can contain E-mail, Fax,
Pager and other addresses supported within the CommuniGate system.

The List Gate can maintain several mailing lists simultaneously. Each
mailing list can have its own set of options.

Since the List Gate receives all messages via the CommuniGate kernel, data
conversions (as MIME decoding) are always performed.

The List Gate supports the "feed" operation mode, when each posted message
is immediately distributed to all subscribers.

The List Gate supports the "digest" operation mode, when posted messages are
composed into digests which are sent to the subscribers at specified times.
The List Gate supports archiving of digests and retrieving retrieval of back
issues via E-mail.

The List Gate stores subscription lists as tab-delimited text files. It
allows you to create applications that can easily manipulate with mailing
lists.

The List Gate is optimized to process large (multi-thousand subscribers)
mailing lists effectively.

Subject: [*] CommuniGate Server 2.6.1

The CommuniGate Server is the kernel part of the CommuniGate integrated
messaging system. When installed, it runs in background (no dedicated machine
required) and:
* stores all messages sent and received;
* enables network access for CommuniGate users, maintains their mailboxes,
  queues, etc.;
* loads and runs CommuniGate modules (i.e. FaxGate, UUCPGate, SMTPGate, etc.)
  and creates the run-time environment for those modules;
* maintains system activity log;
* implements routing algorithms;
* maintains a resource database and provides access to that database for
CommuniGate users and CommuniGate modules (fax cover pages, sounds, voice
  scripts, info tables, etc.).

The CommuniGate services can be accessed with the CommuniGator client
software. The client software allows you to compose and read messages, to
manage your mailboxes, etc. It is also used by CommuniGate administrator to
configure, maintain, monitor and control the CommuniGate server - locally or
remotely.

When the POPGate and SMTPGate modules are installed, the CommuniGate Server
can be used as a messaging server for clients running not only the
CommuniGator application, but plain POP-based mailers (as Eudora and Claris
Emailer) - on any platform.

When the IMAPGate is released in January, the IMAP4 mailers can be used with
the CommunIGate System, too.

Before you install or upgrade:
* If you use OpenTransport, please make sure that the OT 1.1.1 or better is
  installed!
* If you use MacPPP, please switch to FreePPP.
*?If you use FreePPP, please make sure you use the latest version available.
*?If you use the VICOM gateway, please make sure you use the latest version
  available.

Subject: [*] CopyPaste 3.2.2J - Japanese Version

This is the Japanese version of the CopyPaste clipboard utility.

CopyPaste is the winner of the MacUser Shareware Utility of 1996 and
America Online Macintosh Utilities Shareware Award for 1996 America
OnlineShareware Awards: <http://members.aol.com/macutility/mut_awards.html>

One of the early wonders of the Mac was its revolutionary ability to do
copy and paste across various applications. Unlike other areas in the Mac's
system software that have changed and progressed over the years, copy and
paste has not evolved. How many times have you found yourself going back
and forth copying in one application and pasting in a different
application, wishing to yourself that you could copy 5-10 items at a time,
then go to another application and paste each of these items. Now you can!

CopyPaste includes built in application switching, clipboard and text
manipulation, and much, much more!

Version 3.2.2 changes:

    * A memory leak which wasted memory when the Palette was open is fixed.
    * The keyboard function keys are disabled by default. You can switch
them on and off in the preferences dialog.
    * The floating Palette now does not miss any clicks anymore.
    * If Tag and Drop is off, no Control-Clicks disappear anymore.

using a mathematical algorithm, not randomly, so the password can always

Subject: [*] IP Monitor 1.1.1

IP Monitor is a handy application which displays the current IP network
(or subnet mask) address of your Macintosh on your desktop.

With IP Monitor, you won't need to open the TCP/IP (or MacTCP) control
panel to view your Macintosh's IP address. Additionally, IP Monitor
allows you to copy the current IP network (or subnet mask) address to the
clipboard, where it can be pasted directly to most applications and
documents.

IP Monitor is especially useful to people connecting to the Internet via
the PPP or SLIP protocols, whenever IP addressing is provided dynamically
by the host' server.

IP Monitor requires System 7 as well as an IP network driver such as Open
Transport or MacTCP.

IP Monitor is scriptable. AppleScript, QuicKeys 3 and UserLand Frontier
example scripts are included.

Version 1.1.1 adds full Open Transport support.

Enjoy!

john's calculator is a simple, powerful, and fast keyboard-based calculator.
Expressions are entered as by hand, using either the keyboard or calculator
buttons. Standard editing commands like cut, copy, and paste are fully
supported.
Variables can be used to simplify expressions.

Version History:
1.1 - (<<<DATE>>>)
- extended round/trunc to allow negative number of decimal places
- inf/-inf are now handled correctly
- "," now handled correctly
- fixed some minor bugs in the calculator engine
- fixed major bug which caused floating point heap to be slowly used up
- variables are now stored in a linked list rather than an array - the number
of
variables is now limited only by available memory
- added "No Rounding" item to the "Decimal" menu
- the "New" item in the "File" menu is disabled/enabled as appropriate
- cleaned-up various menus
- cleaned-up grow
- cleaned-up file handling
- the "Save xxx before yyy" dialog now handles the "escape" key correctly
- the way in which the calculator looks for things to evaluate in a line
has been changed.
- many buttons now add "()" or "(,)" to the end of their text. This can be
prevented by holding down the option key when clicking the button. Holding the
key down while clicking a button moves selected text to the insertion point.
- replaced ":" with "?", "{" with ":", and "}" with ";".
- fixed problem with insertion point sometimes "sticking" after answer.

Subject: [*] SMAP: an SNMP-based network traffic visualizer

SMAP is a simple SNMP-based network traffic visualization tool.

SMAP will help you create an active map of a portion of your logical
internetwork, and once you've got a map, SMAP will animate it for you.

Depending on the SNMP agents you already have running on your
internetwork, SMAP may be able to show you your TCP/IP, AppleTalk, and
IPX topologies, as well as your internetwork traffic, your overall
network traffic levels, and your low-level node-to-node traffic.

A network admin can use SMAP to run a network-at-a-glance display, and
to log traffic & error levels.

SMAP will run on just about any MacOS machine that's got MacTCP or a
current version of Open Transport. SMAP will talk to just about any
device that's SNMPv1-over-IP manageable. You don't need to know SNMP to
run SMAP, so long as you know a read community for each device you want
to map.

What's new with SMAP 1.2:
   * SMAP can show you your switch traffic, if your switches support the
appropriate portions of the Bridge MIB

What's fixed with SMAP 1.2:
   * SMAP no longer hangs when browsing very-long-named MIB objects
   * SMAP now adapts sensibly when it gets an SNMP tooBig error
   * plus several less-annoying problems got fixed

SMAP is US$20 shareware.

Subject: [*] VacationMail 1.52 Demo

VacationMail is a utility for UNIX based e-mail users (such as
Eudora, TCP Connect, ZMail, LeeMail, etc.) that quickly and easily configures
the vacation feature to reply to all incoming e-mail messages while
users are unavailable.

Features
o Easy interaction/setup of Vacation feature
o Responds to messages even if you NOT checking your mail
	o Environment sensitive configuration guidance
	o Online Balloon Help

Updated pricing and purchasing information is available in the
"Register:Pricing/Puchase" menu of VacationMail. Unlimited use site
licenses are available ($500 educational, $750 commercial) and encouraged.

Why you need VacationMail
VacationMail is an *essential* tool for users who rely on e-mail as a
critical part of their job. It will keep users informed of periods of
unavailability with the user configurable subject and e-mail body. To
examine this demo, simply double click and follow along with the context
sensitive help system provided. For additional information, you may check
the balloon help menu. (The menu of choices listed under the balloon help
icon.) The "Commonly Asked Questions" menu might be of special interest
to users with additional questions about the program.

How it works
Users setup their mail account information and then create the
vacation message they wish to have sent out. VacationMail is
"Eudora-aware". So users of the popular public domain and commercial
mail program will be able to configure VacationMail with two simple
clicks - skipping the account setup step. The auto response system in
vacation will only send one message per week to any one e-mail address
and will not respond to messages from mailing lists or list servers.
A full Unix based mail account is necessary for VacationMail to run
properly since Vacation features in Unix require it. (e.g. You must have
more than just a POP mail account.)

About this Update
This update makes VacationMail a fat binary, plus MacTCP and OpenTransport
capable.

Thank you for your interest in VacationMail!

Subject: [*] Vremya 1.1.5

Requirements:
System 7 or higher; MacTCP or OT.

Vremya is a simple freeware NTP client for Macintosh. It is small
application that alows various degrees of automation from none to waiting
for MacTCP to be opened, seting the clock and then quiting. Because it is
an application, it uses no system memory and causes no INIT conflicts.

Subject: [*] WeatherTracker 2.2.5

WeatherTracker provides an easy-to-use interface to the Internet weather
servers. It requires a 68020 or higher processor with System 7.0 and
MacTCP or OpenTransport. WeatherTracker displays current information for
any of over 1000 cities worldwide in three different formats.

For cities in North America, temperature, barometric pressure, winds,
current conditions, local forecasts, and climatic data are updated hourly.
Coastal cities in the United States also have near shore marine forecasts
available. Cities outside North America are limited to temperature and
conditions, updated several times a day.

Changes in version 2.2.5:
- fixed problems with some cities in Alaska, Arkansas and Quebec
- added 68 new cities

WeatherTracker is shareware, $15 US. This evaluation copy does not save
your preferences. Registered users will receive a key to unlock that
feature.
