Defaults Folder


Use this folder to define default properties for the client application.

Available Resource: Smart Cards

Use the Smart Card category to define the ocf.client.defaultcard property. This property defines a specific card type (among all valid card types) that must be used with the application. The card types known by Solaris Smart Cards include:

To Define the Default Smart Card
  1. Select Smart Card from the Available Resources list.
  2. Press the radio button for the default Smart Card.

    You can pick only one default card type.

    Note:

    The card type you picked for the default card must also have been defined as a valid card. See Smart Cards Used Check List.

  3. Press Apply or OK to convey your choices to the OCF server.

Available Resource:Card Reader

Use this category to define a default smart card reader to be recognized by the client application.

To Define the Default Smart Card Reader
  1. Select Card Reader from the Available Resources list.
  2. Press the radio button for the default card reader type.

    You can pick only one default card reader.

    Note:

    The card reader you choose must accommodate the default card you defined in Available Resource: Smart Cards.

  3. Press Apply or OK to convey your choices to the OCF server.

Available Resource: Authentication

Use the Default Authentication list to define the ocf.client.default.authmechanism property. This property specifies the default authentication sequence to be used when a user logs in with the default smart card and tries to access the current application.

The available mechanisms that you can choose from are those that were activated for the OCF server. See Configure Authentication Services Dialog Box. The Tag column lists tags associated with the client on the smart card.

For conceptual information about these authentication mechanisms, refer to the Solaris Smart Cards Administration Guide.

To Define the Default Authentication Sequence for the Client

  1. Select Authentication from the Available Resources list.
  2. Beginning editing the authentication sequence by either:
a. Pressing Add to choose an additional authentication mechanism.
b. Pressing Modify to change the currently selected mechanism.
c. Pressing Delete to delete the currently selected mechanism

A combo box displays.

  1. Pull down on the arrow to display the authentication mechanisms and choose additional mechanisms, as needed.

    Note:

    The order of mechanisms in the Default Authentication list is the actual order of the authentication sequence tried by the OCF server.

    You can pick more than one default authentication mechanism. Press Apply or OK to convey your choices to the OCF server.

Continue configuring the client by pressing the NEXT button.
