Subject: [*] Screamer Chess Build 57

This is the latest release of the Screamer Chess Engine for PowerPC
Macintosh Computers. The distribution includes the Chess Program,
An opening book, elementary end-game-tablebases, and complete instructions.

A MacOS X compatible version will be coming soon.

This is from the _Read_Me_First_ file.
What's New - build 57
Screamer has a new log option, "Log to PGN File".
This option allows all games played to be send to a file in PGN
        format.
The PGN file can be used a a game database and directly inported
into Exachess or any chess database program.
What's Better
    Rewrote the evaluation function.
This increases Screamer's score on test suites as follows:
                        Correct ELO USCF Rating
          CCR 19 / 25 2350 2530
          LCT II 23 / 35 2415 2595
          BT2630 23 / 30 2376 2556
          Average: 2380 2560
          WAC 292/300 @ 1 minute
Note: This is on my G3 Tower 266mhz (66mhz system bus).

What's Fixed
A number of minor bug fixes were made.

Subject: [*] WebCalendarMaker

WEB CALENDAR MAKER
"WCM" is a program designed to make it easy and quick to create calendars in
HTML format to be posted on web sites.

The program allows you to add and edit events and details about those
events. When ready, you simply hit an EXPORT button and the entire calendar,
including all event details and their files are exported. Pop-up windows and
links are created without the user needing to know javascript or advanced
HTML coding.
Then, just upload the CALENDAR folder to you web site.

A javascript is provided to allow you to make a link to the "Current Month"
calendar.

I wrote it because I could not find a web calendar program that did the
things I wanted. My goals were to create a program that...

1. is simple and easy to use
2. is usable by someone who does not understand advanced HTML
3. has a feature to allow advanced HTML users to edit the look and feel
of the calendars
4. offers pop-up-windows to see the details of an event

There are several programs out there that provide similar functionality to
"WCM". Most are either overkill or require server side CGI's to accomplish
their function.

sample calendars can be seen at http://homepage.mac.com/eddiealbert/

Subject: [Q] Byte for Byte file comparison

Thanks, Gerry, for your suggestion of verifile.

I am still wondering if anyone knows of a utility that will actually compare
the files byte-for-byte and not just calculate checksum/crcs on one and then
the other.

Also, I really would like the ability for the utility to go through all the
files in each of two folders to compare if two folders are identical down to
the level of every byte in each file. The utility ideally should give a
report with entries that indicate if two files are different, or if one file
is one one folder and not the other.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

I'd like to save the favourites in Internet Explorer onto a zip drive lest
something happens to my HD (which happens from time to time). I know that
saving 'Bookmarks html' for Netscape is what to do with that browser; where
is the equivalent of IE to be found and what is it called?

Thanks,
