I have already found this immediately useful. I can see if you have
multiple online drives it would be even more useful for transfer/backup. I
used it when I was 96% full on a drive. I am now 70% full on that drive.

I would like to see the feature added to the software of defragmenting.
Or a freeware defragmenter that is reliable.

be large enough to be subjected to probate costs, professional fees and taxes.
Its creation provides for the distribution of your

so forth upon your death.
The program walks you through all the steps of creating a Will,

Upon our death, do we want the result of our labors eaten away
by unnecessary
court costs, professional fees and taxes? More importantly, do we
want the State to
distribute our property and appoint a guardian for our minor children
if we don't leave a Will?
Changed format to the modern look in this version. PowerPC and
68K formats are available.

Subject: [*] SFX Machine 1.50 - Audio Multi-Effects Plug-In

The new version of SFX Machine is the most powerful, easy-to-use
sound mangling appliance available for the Mac.

SFX Machine has won Electronic Musician's Editor's Choice Award, a
Key Buy award from Keyboard Magazine, and acclaim from dozens of
leading sound designers and composers. It is now available direct
from its author, The Sound Guy, at a new low price. This
try-before-you-buy copy of SFX Machine is fully functional the first
ten times you launch it; thereafter, it will act as a demo until
purchased.

This plug-in can be used as a sample creation tool, a sound design
tool, or a multi-effects unit that goes far beyond the usual types of
effects. It has a simple front-end that lets you load presets and
modify them using sliders. Almost 400 presets are included, and
others will be available from our web site. In addition, a powerful
modular synthesis engine lets you create your own effects. If you
want, the Randomize button will make something up for you.

We've eliminated the pesky key-disk and challenge/response copy
protection. Also, SFX Machine 1.50 SOUNDS BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE.
Instead of using 4-byte floats for our computations and delay-lines,
we're now using 8-byte doubles. The result: less noise, more
transparency. We want to crunch your numbers, not your signal.
(Unless you want your signal crunched.) Finally, version 1.50 fixes a
bug when running with Deck or Digital Performer.

Real-time plug-in formats are great, but most effects programs don't
allow arbitrarily bizarre patches and twisted feedback loops,
precisely because they may not be computationally efficient enough to
run in real time. If you're tired of traditional been-there-done-that
effects and you're ready to hear the sound of a super-computer giving
itself a groin injury, you've come to the right place. By the way,
SFX Machine 1.50 is now optimized for G4s!

SFX Machine requires a Power Macintosh and a Premiere-format host
program. It works with Peak, Deck, Vision, Premiere, Digital
Performer, Logic Audio, Metro, and TurboMorph. SFX Machine 1.50 is
available only from the Sound Guy, sfx@sfxmachine.com,
<http://www.sfxmachine.com>.

Subject: Chinese language input methods

For weeks I have been trying to find software that will allow me to enter
traditional Chinese (Big 5) into various (or any) applications. I have run
up against brick walls everywhere I go. The main obstacle seems to be an
inability to locate Apple's Chinese Language Kit and, more recently, the
Apple extension "inputbacksupport". I would appreciate any assistance anyone
is willing to offer with this problem.

Subject: StarMax 5500 and printers

I have recently aquired a Motorola StarMax 5500/200. It is based upon
the PowerMac 4400 motherboard.

The only real difficulty that I am having is with a HP Laserjet 4m Plus
printer. I can't see it in the chooser.

I am on System 9.1 (have tried other lower ones) and am using the latest
Laserwriter software. Have also tried the HP software for this printer.
All to no avail. Can't see it in the chooser.

This same setup worked fine on a PowerMac 8100/80. Same printer. Same
cable. Same driver.

Any help would be appreciated.
