Subject: [*] Appearance Designer1.1

Appearance Designer is a simple utility to create your own color scheme
and to add it in your appearance control panel.
I hope you make your Mac more exciting and more customized for your own
sense.
Basically, Appearance Designer runs with Appearance Control Panel,so you

at least need your machine installed Appearance System Extension
(Appearance Control Panel). If you are currently using Mac OS 8 or Mac
OS 8.1, don't worry. Appearance System Extension has been installed when

you installed Mac OS 8 or 8.1, or If you are currently using System 7.1
or later but Mac OS 8, you must install Appearance System Extension at
First. If you don't have it, you may get that at Apple's Web Site.
If you use System 7 or more earlier version of System, you can't run
this utility because Appearance System Extension does not support its
version of System.

I have no responsibility for any disaster and anything which happens to
you in a bad way or another
by using this software. Please use it at your own risk.

game which decides the fate of the checkers. There are many types of mini
games like Pong, Paint, and Mole. It is a worthwhile download, many have
said, so give it a try.

Subject: [*] Enigmatic Movements 1.5

Lord Jochen from Swordlord today announced the release of Enigmatic
Movements 1.5, his new puzzle game for the Mac.

What is Enigmatic Movements?

The object of Enigmatic Movements is to move the colored tiles until each
row or column has the same color. You can choose the boardsize between 4x4
(piece of cake) and 10x10 (very difficult). Once you get the hang of it,
it's very easy to complete the board, but the real challenge is to do this
in the least number of moves possible ! The game also keeps statistics of 10
different players, allows you to choose between different sets of tiles,
plays background music from the Music folder, and lets you choose the
background color...

What's new in version 1.5?

- the Challenge Mode : you're challenged to complete a certain board in
under a maximum number of moves. If you succeed, you get points and a new
(harder) challenge...
- background music : you can put any MOD, MADH, XM or S3M music file (or
alias) in the Music folder, and listen to them during the game. There are 2
musics included!
- there are now 2 ways of moving the tiles:
   - dragging them, like in version 1.0, and
   - clicking on a tile to grab it, then move it and click again to release
it
- lots of improvements, like faster drawing to make the game more responsive
on slower macs

Enigmatic Movements is US$15 shareware. Users can register on-line or with
the Kagi Register application.

Requirements: Enigmatic Movements should run on any Mac or compatible (68K
and PowerPC native) with system 7.0 or better. Minimum RAM requirement is
1MB, preferred is 1800KB, when you're screen is set to millions of colors...

Availability

Enigmatic Movements 1.5 is now available for download at
<http://www.swordlord.ch/enigmatic>, and very soon on all major Mac
shareware ftp sites.

This is a Kaleidoscope 2 scheme.

Notable changes since 1.7.1 & 2.1:
All Hi-Platinum (HiP) schemes have movable modal grow box. All HiP
schemes are now complete (well, to the best of my knowledge). Several
modifications have been made to the 2.x Finder icons (now installed in
all schemes)... among other things, a new set of Trash cans. This
release introduces HiP Zoey. Zoey is essentially HiP X without the
accent colors. Zoey gains superior menu highlighting, however. Added in
the customization folder are the Zoey menus. If you install these menus
to HiP Classic, you will lose the accent colors.

Subject: [*] MazeBall

Remember that wooden labyrinth game with two handles on the sides, where
you had to reach the exit without falling into the holes? That was one of
my favorite toys, and it inspired me during the creation of this game. I
took the liberty to add more excitement and variety, in order to make this
wood toy an entertaining computer game. Enjoy!

MazeBall, the new arcade game for the PowerMacintosh, offers:

- 150 levels of increasing difficulty
- Fully playable demo (25 levels)
- Non-violent addictive gameplay
- 3 totally different styles (Traditional, Golf and Puzzle)
- A choice of multiple backgrounds
- Automatically saves your progress
- Original Music Score
- Stereo Sound Effects

Minimum requirements: PowerPC (100Mhz recommended), screen size of 640x480
pixels or larger, 256 colors, system 7.1 or higher, 3500k RAM (8000k
recommended), and approximately 7.5 MB of free disk space.

Have fun!

Subject: [*] Newton's inappropriate relationship

	"NewtMacarenatalk"
Can a Newton say "One True Thing"?
Yes, for those of you who have Apple's unreleased macintalk on it
(I am not authorized to release it here).
------------
Inform yourselves by hearing your Newton recite a balancing White
House statement claiming the ic's abuse of power.
------------
I have downloaded the White House rebuttal of the Kennith Star IC
report. Using macintalk on my macintosh, I was able to get through all the
legalese while doing morning ablutions, to try to get a fair idea of what
is going on rather than just run frightened and hiding with the herd.
Using Jon Wind's add/strip, I've taken the White House rebuttal and
removed linefeeds within paragraphs to make the soft word wrapped
specification of a macintosh paragraph. I indented each paragraph, as well.
As far as I know, elsewise it is verbatim. I've translated it to a newton
paperback book, an idea invented by David Fedor.
My application requires an ad for crypto which I chose to have the
paperback run code on it. This is in memory of the director of Hudson
(think tank) Institute who wrote in some singles magazine in the 60's that
a crucial bullwark of American individuality was ------- privacy. I do this
because I would hope that our future leaders would dare to be individuals
with not merely a public facade.
I've enclosed a newton freeware application I made which will read
paperback books.
My application will backtrack paragraphs, read paragraphs at a
time, and read the whole thing. It also has a button to save your place
where last you had it read to you. The button to read a paragraph is very
big, so you can listen to it in the dark, perhaps under the stars to put
all rants in the cosmic perspective of "One True Thing" ... .

Subject: [*] nosey V1.1 - A cool multiplayer game

nosey V1.1 has been released by Purple Grapefruit! This cool shareware game
can now be downloaded from either the Purple Grapefruit web site
<http://vll.com/purplegrapefruit/> or the Info-Mac Archives. Remember -
nosey isn't just an educational product, we will have many entertainment
based question files on the web site soon!

For people with slower connections we have two versions of nosey. One with
the Quicktime movies (a good 15.3MB) and one without (a more decent 650K).
Both of these are available from both Info-Mac and Purple Grapefruit. You
may register nosey with the enclosed Register program or by going to
http://order.kagi.com/?J73

nosey is a cool multiplayer quiz game that lets you take on your friends,
enemies, co-workers and/or classmates to answer as many questions correctly
(or incorrectly) as you want. You can either play to win, or you can play to
lose. It has a user friendly interface that is easy to grasp, so you should
have no trouble playing.

What's new in nosey V1.1?
------------------------
*PPC native (FAT Binary)
*A default Question file containing lots of really cool questions!
*More Question Files
We have added some more question file to nosey! Unfortunately to
keep the download size down we have had to not include the quicktime movies.
If you want them, we can organise something to get them to you.
*Question Files changes
Locations of questions have been changed to better reflect what they
are.
*How to make Question Files
A quick HTML guide to making question files for nosey! It is also
available online.
*Multiple Question Files
This lets you plug in new sets of questions as they become available
and even write your own!
*More QuickTime Movies!
The demo only had two movies (to keep file sizes down) but now we
are going to go overboard!
*More Questions
Instead of only the 40 questions that come with the demo we will be
including several sets of questions for all sorts of subjects!

Subject: [*] PandoCalendar - Customizable desktop

PandoCalendar is a freeware Macintosh application that places a small
customizable calendar on your desktop. The calendar may be customized by
changing the frame, background color, text color, font, and font size.
You can also attach notes to specific days for past or future events, and
have PandoCalendar automatically plot the days you work. Great for people
who don't have a Monday-Friday work schedule!

Version 3.3.2 - Fixed a bug that under System 7.6 caused the Continue and
Cancel buttons in the work cycle dialog to be disabled; no longer allow
notes composed entirely of empty lines and/or spaces, as this would crash
PandoCalendar with a Type 4 error; and fixed a bug where PandoCalendar
would would not display note balloons if a frame was chosen, this seems
to have only affected PowerMac G3's using MacOS 8.1. Changed the display
of the verse on Sunday so that it will not prevent the system from
completing start-up.

PandoFrame is a freeware Macintosh application that allows you to place
picture frames on your desktop. It's like Stickies for pictures. The
picture frames set above any desktop pattern or picture you have, and can
be arranged anywhere on the desktop. Frames can be any of nine shapes and
come in a variety of colors and patterns. You can even create you own
custom frames! They are perfect for displaying pictures of your loved
ones, family, or even your pets!

Version 3.1 - Added ~PandoFrame INIT, to allow the frames to become part
of the background picture and sit behind Finder icons; support for MacOS
8.5's new Navigation Services; support of aliases for the frames and the
frames folder; removed the requirement for QuickTime on PowerPC Macs;
improved the redrawing of frames; and now makes more use of temporary
system memory. Also changed the display of the verse on Saturday so that
it will not prevent the system from completing start-up.
