Coffee Break is a simple, Mac-only application designed to help prevent
Repetitive Stress Injuries. One of the most important things you should
do if you have an RSI or think you're at risk of getting an RSI is to
take frequent breaks from your computer. Coffee Break helps to do this by
forcing you to take breaks. You can set the length of the break and the
amount of time between breaks.

Coffee Break is $6 shareware.

Subject: [*] Command-Trash 1.3

Introducing the thoughtful Command-Trash. Command-Trash (which is
compatible with Mac OS 8) updates the Finder, enabling a "Cmd-T"
trash-emptying feature that'll make you wonder why Apple didn't think of
it.

Command-Trash updates resources in the Finder and System files. It is
strongly recommended that you start your Macintosh (or compatible) from
an alternate startup disk (other than your main hard drive) before using
any such updater.

Version 1.2 remembers to include the "Register" application (OOPS!).
Purchase of Command-Trash for $5 removes all "$"s, and entitles
purchasers to ALL future updates.

DaemonCron Lite 1.0.2 - Freeware for private use

Copyright =A9 1998 by Xochitl Sodality Daemon Works
All Rights Reserved

ABSTRACT - Now compatible with Mac OS 8.5!

DaemonCron Lite 1.0.2 - This small daemon plays sounds, posts messages to
the screen, and will launch applications (including AppleScript applets) on
any schedule you set. Possible uses include screaming clocks, counted
quarter-hour chimes (e.g., three backward bongs at :15 after, one backward
bong at :45 after), nagging yourself (via AppleScripts), launching Netscape
at 3 A.M. to drive your cat nuts, whining soulfully when someone else is
using your computer, turning your house lights on or off (requires wiring
and additional stuff not provided), doing things at startup or shutdown,
listening to your ex's dead dog bark every now and then, and so forth. Hey,
it's daemonic! Use your imagination!

Requires System 7.5.5 or better. OS 8.5 requires version 1.0.2! Requires
ResEdit or Resorcerer for configuration, and you should be comfortable with
no-holds-barred system spelling bees when you configure launchfile names.

The DOCMaker Document Patch for Mac OS 8.5 will quickly update existing
DOCMaker documents for use under Mac OS 8.5. After patching, the
documents will still work under older Mac OS versions. The patcher
replaces the horizontal navagation scrollbar in those documents that have
more than one chapter. This scrollbar needs updating for use under Mac
OS 8.5. The symptoms that are fixed by this patch are long pauses in the
Macintosh after using the popup menu in the navagation scrollbar. This
patch is only needed for DOCMaker documents whose version number is 4.8.3
or earlier.

Subject: [*] FindText 1.3.5 (FAT)

FindText 1.3.5

FindText is a utility that can search the files on your harddisk for that
specific text you know is hiding somewhere. Simply type in the text, tell
it what folder(s) or disk(s) to search, and it will find all files
containing that text. This saves you having to open ten or more files to
get hold of the one you're after, and FindText can work in the background,
which means you can get on with something else rather than watching the
progress bar crawl across the screen. If speed is important, try FindText.

FindText can search the data- and/or resource-fork of your files.

FindText needs System 7 or better and runs native both on the PowerMac and
the 68020/030/040 Macs. FindText is fully compatible with Mac OS 8.

Version 1.3.5 is a minor update.

FindText is shareware (USD 20). You can also register via Kagi (creditcard,
cash, check, ...).

=46M Egg Timer 1.2
=A91998 LizardBreath Software (All rights reserved!)
http://www.bozos.com/lizardbreath/

The FM Egg Timer is a Control Strip module designed to help you keep track
of time while you're working at your computer. Set the timer to remind you
that your laundry will be done in 45 minutes. Use it to give yourself a
coffee break in half an hour. Set it because you just put a pot of water
on the stove and if you forget about it all the water will boil away and
leave that nasty white stuff on the bottom of your pot.

The FM Egg Timer is free, easy to use, nice to look at, incredibly handy,
and free.

Requirements:

Apple's Control Strip control panel or a Control Strip clone such as Ammon
Skidmore's Extensions Strip or Proteron's GoMac.

What's new in 1.2:

-- Added customizable alert sound and reminder message.
-- Resolved issues with GoMac and Extensions Strip that would prevent the
module's menu and dialogs from appearing.
-- The timer should now function properly even if its parent folder is
named something other than "Control Strip Modules" (this was causing
problems on international systems).
-- Added the Face application to handle modeless dialogs.
-- Smoothed out a few cosmetic quirks.

Subject: [*] German Diacritics 1.0 - text-conversion module

'German Diacritics' is a conversion module for the 'Restore Diacritic'
application. 7-bit ASCII texts often use the following replacements for the
German umlauts: =E4 -> ae, =FC -> ue, =F6 -> oe, =DF -> ss. The problem=
 arises if
you want to reverse this operation (i.e. to restore umlauts in the text).
Simple find-replace will not work as many words should remain unchanged.
This module solves this problem by using the conversion dictionary so only
the appropriate words will be converted. 'Restore Diacritic' is available
from the Info-Mac mirrors.

Guide).

Neben verschiedenen Auswertungen (Jahresbersicht, G+V, Budget,
Umsatzsteuer,...) bietet es auch eine graphische Aufbereitung der Daten.

Neuerungen in Version 5.0:

sehr komfortable Lsung ausgedacht.

Subject: [*] MiniCalendar 2.1

Announcing the release of MiniCalendar 2.1. MiniCalendar is your
ordinary Kaleidoscope savvy system calendar. Its main goal is to
provide the user with a basic calendar for any month between January
1582 and December 29940.

MiniCalendar is not designed to replace full function date books,
rather it is designed to complement such programs. Programs such as
Claris Organizer or Now Up-To-Date excel at managing appointments and
dates, but are clumsy when it comes to looking up what day your
birthday is going to fall on next year. MiniCalendar fills this niche
nicely. Since MiniCalendar is small and easy enough to use, you will
want to leave it running so you will always have access to a calendar.

As you'd expect from Catara, MiniCalendar is robust, 100% PowerPC native,
easy to use, and efficient. For $5 shareware, it makes a nice addition to
MacOS 8.x.

Who will use MiniCalendar?

  - Users who need to look up dates, but do not need a full scale date
book
  - Kaleidoscope / Aaron users who want a more unified system appearance
  - Users who want to show off to their PC friends that the Mac is not
only year
2000 compliant but year 29940 compliant!
  - Or anyone who needs quick access to a calendar

New in Version 2.1

  - MacOS 8.5 Compatable
  - Better Support for Kaleidoscope.
  - The calendar can be drawn with the week starting on Monday.
  - Various other improvements and bug fixes - Removed support for the
now defunct Better Beeps.

System Requirements

  - 680x0 or PPC
  - Color Quickdraw
  - System 7 or MacOS 8.0
  - 256K of Free Memory

SherlockSets 1.0b7

I have wrote this app to enable sets for Internet searches with
Sherlock. Sherlock is cool but when you have plenty of plug-ins in the
Internet Search Sites folder, it's a mess to look for the appropiate
sites to check.

It's freeware, please spread the word!.

To create or modify sets:
- Launch SherlockSets
- Select "Edit sets" from the "Sets" menu
- Create, delete or edit sets.

To use a set
- Launch SherlockSites
- Select the set name from the pop-up menu
- Press the "Launch Sherlock" button

The application creates another folder in the System Folder named
"Internet Search Sites(Disabled)" and moves the disabled files from
"Internet Search Sites" folder to it.

Known bugs:
- Only works in USA version of MacOS 8.5, I think that localized versions
will name "Internet Search Sites" differently. To be fixed in future
releases.

Subject: [*] System 8-er 1.2

System 8-er is a System updater with Apple's "estranged" 68K-users in
mind. This preview version replaces a wide selection of various System
icons with Mac OS 8-like ones (including the "Welcome to Macintosh,"
"Finder," Apple Guide "?", "System Folder," and "System" icons). Version
1.1 installs a menu bar Finder icon more true to the Mac OS 8 style, and
replaces window header "trash can," "suitcase," "locked disk," and
"locked file" icons with Mac OS 8-style ones.

The full version of System 8-er removes all "$," replaces additional
icons within Kaleidoscope and Aaron, and even brings the System 7
Finder's "trash can," "suitcase," "locked disk," and "locked file" window
header icons closer to style of Mac OS 8.

System 8-er updates resources in the Finder and System files. It is
strongly recommended that you start your Macintosh (or compatible) from
an alternate startup disk (other than your main hard drive) before using
any such updater. Version 1.2 remembers to include the "Register"
application (OOPS!).

Purchase of System 8-er for $5 removes all "$"s, and entitles purchasers
to ALL future updates.
