Analog Helper is a graphical configuration tool for Analog 3, which is a
free program to analyse the logfiles from your web server. It lets you
control and preview the results of hundreds of settings, and means you
need not touch the complex syntax of Analog's configuration files.

Analog itself tells you which pages are most popular, which countries
people are visiting from, which sites they tried to follow broken links
from, etc... It is the fastest and most flexible such tool available.

Analog Helper also imports your old .cfg files, allows multiple analysis
configurations to be maintained and can automatically create multiple
reports based on specified time periods.

If you can watch T-V directly on your Macintosh, this small program is for
you. Normally, the image that can be used with Apple Video Player to get
the best quality do not cover the whole screen, so the icons still can be
seen in the background, which is distracting.

A fine solution is Background Hider, a small program which do not take a
lot of memory. It can be used also for games or anything when you want to
cover the desktop in black.

Subject: [*] Better Amazon Sherlock plug-ins

Better Amazon.com plug-ins for Apple's Sherlock feature in Mac OS 8.5.

Enclosed are two Sherlock plug-ins for searching Amazon.com books and
music. These were created because any of the existing Amazon plug-ins I've
tried simply don't work correctly.

Generic Amazon plug-ins only search for books, not music, so I created a
separate music search. Shortly after creating this plug-in, another amazon
music plug-in turned up at a popular web site. In testing, I found that the
other book and music plug-ins did not return the full list of hits. In one
instance, a music search only returned two items where my music plug-in
returned over twenty! In addition, the other plug-ins included a separate
search for classical music which didn't work at all because it was
searching the books database. My single music plug-in correctly searches
both the popular and classical music databases.

You probably have no need for this unless you are a collector,

Instrument Dater is a fat application, containing both PowerPC and 68k

Natural Order is an extension that makes "View by Name" in the Finder
sensibly sort items that have numbers in their names.

E.g. "File5, File10, File15, File20" would list in that order,
instead of the System's standard order, which (believe it or not)
is "File10, File15, File20, File5".

This latest version, v 1.4, fixes a few minor problems.

Subject: [*] Netscape Cache Control 1.0.3

Netscape Cache Control 1.0.3 is a MacPerl droplet that allows users of
Netscape Navigator and Communicator to simply and easily set up and use
memory cache for those browsers. By using memory cache, as opposed to
disk cache, cached pages are stored and retrieved at the speed of memory
I/O rather than the speed of disk I/O. The performance improvement is
quite dramatic.

Since it is a MacPerl droplet, Netscape Cache Control 1.0.3 requires that
MacPerl be installed on the user's computer. Since it doesn't do anything
that hasn't been a part of MacPerl for a long time, any version of
MacPerl 5 will suffice.

The included Read Me file will tell you everything you need to know.

have PandoCalendar automatically plot the days you work. Great for people
who don't have a Monday-Friday work schedule!

Version 4.0.1 - Fixed a bug that would cause Balloon Note and QuickView
to not work with the Sunday verse window open and some other
circumstances. Fixed a rare bug that could cause the notes not to display
on the calendar. Added the ability to display the number of the weeks on
the calendar.

Subject: [*] PictTrasher 1.3

PictTrasher is a small application that you can use to quickly browse through
any image files you have. Decide which ones you want to keep and which ones
you want to get rid of. A Trash button is provided and moves the file to the
Trash. You can choose to empty it later. Yes, the name of the programme
is somewhat misleading. This latest version adds again some features and
fixes some (silly...) bugs. Apologies to all that downloaded 1.2 and found
it didn't work, I hope this one works better...

Subject: [*] Polish Diacritics Light 1.0 - text-conversion module

'Polish Diacritics Light' is a conversion module for the 'Restore
Diacritic' application. 7-bit ASCII texts often use the following
replacements for the Polish letters: =E0 -> a, =B4 -> e, =E7 -> c, =BD -> l =
etc.
The problem arises if you want to reverse this operation. Simple
find-replace will not work as many words should remain unchanged. This
module partially solves this problem by using the conversion dictionary so
only the appropriate words will be converted. Restoring diacritical marks
is often ambiguous. Restore Diacritics will not address this problem. This
means that restoring diacritics operation is not 100% error free but the
converted text is better and easier to read than the original.

Polish Diacritics conversion module should be useful for people who are
learning Polish.

Subject: [*] SpeedDial 2.0

SpeedDial 2.0
by Albright Software - November 17, 1998
SpeedDial is US$8 shareware.

SpeedDial is a program that lets you keep a list of entries of names and
phone numbers. When you want to call someone in your list, SpeedDial will
dial it for you through your modem or speakers.

New stuff in this version: I started this new version from scratch... very
little old code was reused. You can now organize your list into separate
groups (Friends, Family, etc), and that ridiculous Save Changes button is
gone (changes are now saved automatically), among several other changes.

Minimum requirements:
-Any Macintosh with a 68020 processor or higher, or a PowerPC processor
-Mac OS 7.1 or later
-1MB of free RAM (1.5MB preferred)
-Any Hayes-compatible modem for modem dialing (OPTIONAL)

The Lightsaver is a control panel which takes care of adjusting the clock
of your mac for you when entering or leaving daylight-saving time.

This release fixes a bug which prevented The Lightsaver 2.0.1 from working
with Mac OS 8.5.

Unlike Mac OS 8.5's internal mechanism for adjusting daylight-saving time,
The Lightsaver is fully customizable for the needs of any location on Earth.

Subject: [*] Web Confidential 1.0.2 - French Version

Where do you keep your confidential data?

Like most people these days, you've probably got a growing number of
user IDs, passwords, registration keys, PINs, serial numbers, and
the like, stored in various places on your Mac or scribbled on
miscellaneous pieces of paper around your home or office. When you
stop and think about it, you probably have more of these pesky bits
of information scattered about than you realize.

Now there is a software program to manage passwords and the like:
it is called Web Confidential. It uses an intuitive, easy-to-use
cardfile metaphor which will enable even novice users to get up to
speed in no time. Power users will find a large number of options
to enable them to configure Web Confidential to meet their specific
needs.

Web Confidential offers 448-bit encryption.

Web Confidential is $25 shareware.

Subject: [*] YP Projectiles 1.1 (for physics teachers)

Price (Shareware): $20 US

YP Projectiles is a projectile motion simulator used in physics classes.
To simulate a trajectory, the user chooses the initial velocity (magnitude
and direction), the vertical displacement component and the gravitational
acceleration. The software then draws the parabolic trajectory and writes
its main characteristics: range, maximum height reached, etc.
During the simulation, it is possible to display three vectors:
acceleration, velocity and position, and four graphs: acceleration,
velocity, position and energy versus time. Many trajectories can be
superposed in the same window. Trajectories, numerical data and graphs may
be printed or copied to be used in other software. Trajectories may be
also saved as PICT files.

New in this version:
YP Projectiles 1.1 features a new graph displaying mechanical energy,
kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy versus time.
