archives produced by zip. zip version 2.2 is compatible
with PKZIP 2.04.

This port supports also Apple-event.So you can install it in your
WWW-Browser as a helper-app. A additional apple event "do_cmd"

Subject: [*] 37thResEx 2.0.1; the resources extractor.

37thResEx is a useful application for seeing, extracting, copying and
transferring resources from files. By means of it you may:

- view all types of resources into files;
- view all resources of determined type;
- view resources contents;
- know resources attributes;
- gather resources infos;
- copy individual resources or whole types into already existing files or
into new ones;
- modify attributes of copied resources;
- modify attributes of original resources;
- remove from files individual resource or whole types;
- check the Resource Fork integrity.

37thResEx can also convert resources of type 'snd ', 'TEXT', 'PICT', and
icon families into double-clickable files:
- converted Icon families show theirs own icon on the desktop;
- converted 'snd ' resources become sound files;
- converted 'TEXT' resources become styled text files
- converted 'PICT' resources become pict files.

Last, but not least: by means of hot key, you may achieve directly the
Conversion dialogs, without opening the file-related window. Moreover, if
you launch 37thResEx by using this feature, after completing its job it
quits itself automatically.
37thResEx is Internet Config, Drag Manager, Balloon Help and Navigation
Manager aware, moreover it's Appearance savvy. It requires at least System

Hacienda Heights, California, (January 5, 1999, Macworld EXPO, San
Francisco) -
Bleu Rose Ltd. today announced the release of Black & Bleu(tm), an
application that shows the meaning of all of the common and most of the
unusual Macintosh OS error codes. In addition, information is presented
about what might be the cause of the error and what you can do about it. A
free error analysis by one of our experienced developers is available for
errors that don't have a detailed explanation. This service is available to
anyone, at no charge, even if you haven't purchased Black & Bleu(tm).

Black & Bleu(tm) contains over 2500 error codes. Detailed explanations and
remedies are included for the most common of these errors. This is the
most comprehensive list of errors currently available anywhere.

Explanations give users detailed information in 2 categories:
* a Non-technical User orientation
* a Programmer orientation
The Non-technical User explanation is presented in a way that someone
without a programming background can understand. The Programmer
explanation is written in VERY technical terms that usually includes
source code that demonstrates the error. To fully understand the Pro-
grammer explanation, the user should be familiar with Macintosh
programming (in C or C++).

System Requirements
Mac OS 7.0 or later
Any Mac or clone

600 kB of RAM

Availability
Black & Bleu(tm) is available from our web site: http://www.bleurose.com as

Subject: [*] Chocoletters a puzzle game

Chocoletters is a puzzle game. You have to find how the computer mixed
up 36 letters and figures in a 6 by 6 grid. To succeed you may ask for
paths leading from one letter to another. With several paths you can
deduce the positions of the letters. The score depends on the number of
paths and the time spent to finish.

Chocoletters should run on all of the 68020 Macintoshes and later with a
14' color screen or larger. But animations should be quite slow on old
machines. Shareware allows you to try.

Subject: [*] Computer Cuisine 6.0 Recipe Database For FileMaker Pro

Inaka Software Announces Computer Cuisine -- the complete recipe template
for FileMaker Pro.

Computer Cuisine is by far the most efficient and simple way to manage
your home recipe database. It's features include a well designed layout
that makes adding, viewing, sorting, finding and printing a snap. In
addition to the simple, yet highly graphical layout, Computer Cuisine
allows you to add an infinite number of your own recipes to the existing
database. And because Computer Cuisine uses FileMaker Pro as it's
database engine, Computer Cuisine is fully cross platform compatible for
both Macintosh and Windows users.

Version 6.0 Includes:

* Over 1,000 recipes already entered for your convenience!

* Added commands which take advantage of FileMaker Pro 4.x's email/web
features!

* Enhanced graphical layout with simple to use menus and icons!

* Expanded conversion menu for easy calculations to and from U.S.
Standard and Metric!

* List your recipes by item, category, type, or servings! You can choose!

* A print menu which gives users the option of printing in color or b&w,
and in a small or large format! (The small format folds to fit perfectly
onto a 3x5" recipe card).

* Expanded sorting functions! The ability to sort huge recipe lists with
one simple click!

* Fully compatible for both Macintosh and Windows users!

MENUS:

Buttons are located at the top of the layout for added convenience. For
example, just one of the buttons can sort all of your recipes with the
click of your mouse! In the main menu, Computer Cuisine will
alphabetically sort all of your recipes and give you a listing of your
recipes from A-Z. This works much like the index in any cookbook you own,
however, this index is updated every time you add or remove a recipe!
Yet, that is just one of many functions Computer Cuisine has to offer!

And with the extensive search capabilities already built into the
program, you will now be able to search through all of the entered
recipes with the touch of a button! You don't even have to know the exact

same without it!

DeskBots is shareware ($15.00) and requires a 68030 or faster processor,

Speakers and a monitor capable of displaying thousands of colors are
recommended but not required.

Fonts Manager - is similar to the Mac's Extensions Manager, but it manages Fonts
instead. It allows the enabling and disabling of suitcases and printer fonts in
'Sets'. It supports the viewing and printing of font samples, export of 'Sets',
import of saved 'Sets', Balloon Help, and a Tutorial Topics system. It is NOT a
Control Panel or Extension (like ATM D... or Suitca... or Master J...), NOR does
it pretend to be one by living in the Startup Items folder (like Font
R...); thus
it works on ALL Macs with System 7.1 or later, including Mac OS 8.1 (and HFS+),
without modifying the NORMAL startup and operation of your computer. Thousands
worldwide running all kinds of Macs (and clones) have switched to Fonts Manager
to get 'Up & Running'.

Hang2000 v1.3 Released!

Merrimack, New Hampshire, February 1, 1999: Ken Winograd and
Space-Time Associates announced today the release of version 1.3
of a fun Macintosh shareware game called Hang2000. Hang2000 is
a new take on the classic hangman word guessing game we
all played when we were kids. It features colorful,
non-violent graphics, digitized sounds, synthesized speech,
dozens of built-in word categories, thousands of words,
unlimited lists of your own words, and much more.

Hang2000 is "secretly educational". It's played for fun,
but you can't help learning. Included in Hang2000 is a
new "knowledge area". This area will include
information associated with the guessed word or phrase.
If the word chosen is from the States or Countries
category, for example, the knowledge area will show the
capital of the State or Country. If the category is Authors
or Composers, the knowledge area will show facts about, or
famous works of, the author or composer. Of course, you can
also make your own lists (unlimited in number) and include
your own associated information.

There are dozens of categories, guaranteed to include
something for everyone. From Monsters and Dinosaurs to
Star Trek and Television Shows, from Animals and Birds
to Colors and Cities, from Fruits and Vegetables to
Presidents and Vice-Presidents, from Rock and Roll to
Opera and Musical Instruments. And literally dozens more!

This new version (v1.3) adds a host of new digitized sounds,
as well as a new "change case button" that allows you to
switch the large alphabetical icons between lower case and
upper case. This truly allows the program to be enjoyed
by users of all ages...K-12 and beyond.

Hang2000 requires a Macintosh that supports 256 colors
or more.

Hang2000 is available now. For more information, or to
download or securely register the program, please visit

Subject: [*] Mt. Everything 1.5.0a4

Mt. Everything is a control panel allowing you to manage your SCSI
devices and mount Macintosh volumes from any SCSI disk. Additionally
it lets you gather information about all partitions located on a given
SCSI drive and lets you inspect the content of a drive without
having to mount a volume from it.

Mt. Everything 1.5 adds full support for mutliple SCSI buses, including
SCSI buses added by third party expansion cards to your computer. It supports
Ultra/Wide SCSI buses.

Mt. Everything 1.5.0a4 still is an alpha release. It represents work in
progress
and is neither feature complete nor carefully tested. It is intended to supply
a timely fix for broken features in Mt. Everything 1.5.0a3.

What is new in 1.5.0a4?

- Most important, a bug introduced 1.5.0a3, that would cause Mt. Everything
not to mount
volumes from SCSI-disks that weren't powered on a boot time, has been fixed.

- Another somewhat weird and rare problem has been fixed. See the README
for details.

- A very preliminary version of Mt. Everything's hotkey is back in this
release.

Since Mt. Everything 1.5.0a3 failed to mount volumes under certain
conditions, some of
the new features in alpha 3 were inaccessible for most people. Thus I have
left part
of the alpha 3 feature list in here, since most of it applies (finally) to
this release.

What was new in 1.5.0a3?

- Experimental support for mounting volumes which are marked not to
"Auto-Mount" in their
setup-program. This new feature currently works only for drives which have
been prepared
with Apple's "Drive Setup" program.

- Experimental support for SCSI-2 compliant optical storage devices like MO
drives added.
Mt. Everything will treat them the same as a normal hard disk and should be
able
to mount volumes from such drives if the drive (or better its medium) has
been prepared

NameChum is a useful application for changing the name of files, folders
and disks. It can add prefix and/or suffix by using one of offered options:
 * user's choice,
 * date,
 * time,
 * progressive number.
Moreover NameChum has other cool features for working on names:
 * searches/replaces characters,
 * removes any number of characters starting from whatever position into names,
 * truncates start and/or end of names.

Through preferences you may decide:
 * the default action,
 * the default job system,
 * whether NameChum should scan directories,
 * whether it should change names of directories,
 * whether it should restart the progressive number at each session,
 * whether it should try to set the extensions of names following the
Internet Config "File Mapping" setting,
 * whether it should set the extensions of names following only the
Internet Config File Mapping" setting,
 * up to four file type to ignore during the renaming,
 * up to four file type to rename, ignoring the other ones.

NameChum is useful for normal desktop usage, but is cool when works, fine,
fast and in background, with thousands of files.
By using hot keys you may skip the "request" dialog and changing, on the
fly, by using the default action. Moreover there's a key for setting the
preferences before work.
The Eraser is Internet Config, Drag Manager and Navigation Manager aware,
moreover it's Appearance savvy. It requires at least System 7 to run.

ScanMon is a joke that you can play on your friends,
family, co-workers, etc...

Here's the scenario;

You tell your co-workers that you have a new software
that will allow you to scan an image - using your MONITOR
as a scanner!

Of course they won't believe that such a technology exists,
but if they'll suspend their disbelief long enough for you to
demonstrate, they won't be disappointed.

ScanMon does a very convincing illusion of scanning directly
onto your monitor - to your friend's astonishment!

At this point, you decide to ignore all the warnings against
putting your fingers in the scan area, and you announce that
you will now scan your HAND!

Before anybody can say "STOP! Didn't you hear it TELL you not
to put your hands near the..."

You bravely place your hand in the scan area and press the
Scan Button.

What follows next is sheer terror! But only YOU know the secret!

     ----Warning!----Warning!----Warning!----

This joke is not to be used near people with a history of heart
conditions or on patients incarcerated in mental institutions.
This joke is banned in several spurious counties in the USA,
check the local laws in your state for details. Children under
six should not be allowed to witness any part of this joke, as
it's bound to leave an impression. Do not store this joke near
flames and open containers of explosive gasses. If this joke
accidently gets in eyes, see your doctor and induce vomiting

Subject: [*] Verbs & Nouns 2.3.1 - foreign language learning

Here is the new version of the 'Verbs & Nouns' application - 2.3.1

'Verbs & Nouns' is an application for practising inflection, translation
and pronunciation at the level of single words. Features include the
opportunity to do inflection exercises, and translation exercises in
both directions; to record and play sound for single words; and to do
exercises based on sound or pictures.

The program keeps a record of exercises, and identifies the words that
the student has difficulty with. Along with the program, you need a
module for the target language concerned. The program can also be used
as an authoring tool to write your own modules of inflected words for
any language. A built-in 'inflection-generator' simplifies the addition
of these words. A 'Find' feature allows the modules to be used as
bilingual dictionaries.

Ready-made modules are already available for certain languages. You can

Subject: [*] Web Confidential 1.2

Where do you keep your confidential data?

Like most people these days, you've probably got a growing number of
user IDs, passwords, registration keys, PINs, serial numbers, and
the like, stored in various places on your Mac or scribbled on
miscellaneous pieces of paper around your home or office. When you
stop and think about it, you probably have more of these pesky bits
of information scattered about than you realize.

Now there is a software program to manage passwords and the like:
it is called Web Confidential. It uses an intuitive, easy-to-use
cardfile metaphor which will enable even novice users to get up to
speed in no time. Power users will find a large number of options
to enable them to configure Web Confidential to meet their specific
needs.

Web Confidential offers 448-bit encryption.

Web Confidential 1.2 is Mac OS 8.5-savvy and is available in
English and Japanese.

Web Confidential is $25 shareware.
