example, you may have a CD-ROM of EPS clip art that was created for use on
PCs, but which you would like to use on a Macintosh. EPS Mover can quickly
convert the PC EPS files into equivalent Macintosh EPS files.

Subject: [*] EPS Factory 1.0 - EPS Preview Generation Utility

EPS Factory(tm) is a new Macintosh application from Art Age Software(tm), the
makers of the award-winning applications epsConverter(tm) and EPStoPICT(tm).
EPS Factory can convert any Level 1 PostScript(R) file into a properly
conforming EPS file, complete with optional preview and thumbnail. In
addition, EPS Factory can add or replace previews and thumbnails in EPS files,
correct inaccurate bounding boxes, and distill the PostScript code in ill-
behaved EPS files. EPS Factory is quite handy in a number of situations. For
example:

   * You have an EPS file, but it doesn't contain a preview image. Therefore,
you cannot see the contents of the EPS file on screen when you place it into
another document. No problem! EPS Factory will read your existing EPS file and
create a new EPS file for you, complete with preview image and, if you like, a
thumbnail too.

   * You have an EPS file which contains a preview image of poor quality. EPS
Factory can read your existing EPS file and create a new EPS file for you,
complete with a new preview image. Plus, you can adjust the preview's quality
with control over color, dithering and antialiasing.

   * You have an EPS file with an inaccurate bounding box comment. This is one
of the more common problems with EPS files. EPS Factory can read your existing
EPS file and create a new EPS file with correct bounding box and hi-res
bounding box information!

   * You have an EPS file that trips up some PostScript RIPs. This is another
common problem with EPS files. When EPS Factory creates a new EPS file, it can
optionally distill the PostScript code into a simpler form, less likely to
cause problems on your RIP.

   * You have a PostScript file which you would like to use as an EPS file.
That is, you would like to import it or place it into a document created by an
application that understands EPS, but balks at raw PostScript. EPS Factory can
create an EPS version of your PostScript file, again complete with preview
image and thumbnail if you choose.

System Requirements
-------------------
EPS Factory requires a Macintosh computer with a PowerPC processor running
System 7.0 or later. Because EPS Factory contains only PowerPC native code, it
will not run on older Macs using 68000 series processors.

To install EPS Factory, simply double-click the EPS Factory Installer icon,
and follow the on-screen instructions.

Pricing and registration details can be found in the package.

Subject: [*] FastFontMenu 2.0.1J - Japanese Version

FastFontMenu - is a Control Panel which speeds up the building of the Font
Menu in most applications. It does this by sorting the font names in an
internal array, rather than insertion sorting them in the menu the way
older versions of the MacOS did . It also caches the list. This has two
benefits. The first is that it'll be MUCH faster for every font menu after
the first, as long as your fonts haven't changed (applications that have
fonts in their resource forks will clobber the caching, but they've been
warned not to do that by Apple's Developer Support for more than seven
years). The second benefit is that after the first time, the memory
requirements of FFM are much smaller. If you were seeing problems in a
control panel or desk accessory, you should no longer see them as long as
you've run an application that builds a font menu first.
This is the Japanese version of the FastFontMenu package.

Subject: [*] SchemeChecker 1.4.5 - Kaleidoscope 1.x and 2.x scheme utility

When Greg Landweber released Kaleidoscope 1.5, he started supporting third
party color schemes. This made it possible for anybody to make their own
schemes and change their MacOS interface completely. But, unfortunately, not
all scheme designers are careful enough to make sure their schemes are bug
free.

To help scheme authors create schemes that had less bugs and would run more
smoothly, SchemeChecker was released. SchemeChecker runs several tests on
your schemes, to make sure you haven't omitted any crucial resources, or
added resources that aren't used at all.

Starting with version 1.4, SchemeChecker is fully compatible with the new,
complex scheme format in Kaleidoscope 2.x schemes. SchemeChecker also allows
schemes built for earlier versions of Kaleidoscope to contain the new
Kaleidoscope 2.x resources, such as desktop patterns, window colors or
cursors, as long as the resource IDs or functionality don't overlap.

SchemeChecker enables you to check all the schemes in any folder (including
subfolders), just one scheme or several schemes which can be selected from a
list. The results can easily be exported to a TEXT file which you can open
in any text editor.

Recent changes to SchemeChecker
-------------------------------
1.4.5 - March 29, 1999
   * Fixed a bug that could cause SchemeChecker to stop working after a
     couple of launches.

1.4 - 1.4.4:
   * SchemeChecker remembers the selected scheme folder between launches.
   * Support is added for the new resources introduced in Kaleidoscope
     2.1.2 and MacOS 8.5.
   * SchemeChecker now does a better job at checking schemes configured
to be used only with Kaleidoscope 2.0 or later. It also allows
schemes built for earlier versions of Kaleidoscope to contain the
new Kaleidoscope 2.0 resources in areas where the resource IDs
     don't overlap.
   * Kaleidoscope now checks the "Minimum Kaleidoscope version" entry in
the Colr ID 129 resource for errors.
   * You can now make SchemeChecker automatically fix any unset System
     Heap and Purgeable bits.
   * When you select a different scheme in the Result window, the dis-
played information no longer reverts to the "further info" field.
   * misc. bug fixes and improvements

Scribbles - A Drawing/Guessing Game

This is a slick little game I wrote as a project in learning to program the
Mac interface. Basically it is a matching game: given a picture, you must
identify the identical from six similar copies. You can play by yourself or
with another person. Anyway, you can control most of the parameters and you
can also save/import images. Its best for younger kids, I guess.

Scribbles requires a PPC (PowerPC) Macintosh and should be used with a
monitor that can support at least 8-bit color. You really shouldn't have any
problems meeting this requirements unless you have an older machine; if
demand is high I could probably make a 68k version but until then I won't
bother. - All other information is available in the included Readme -

Here is the new version of 'Verbs & Nouns' - 2.3.6

The new version includes several interface improvements.

'Verbs & Nouns' is an application for practising inflection, translation
and pronunciation at the level of single words. Features include the
opportunity to do various inflection exercises, and translation exercises in
both directions; to record and play sound for single words; and to do
exercises based on sound or pictures.

The program keeps a record of exercises, and identifies the words that
the student has difficulty with. Along with the program, you need a
module for the target language concerned. The program can also be used
as an authoring tool to write your own modules of inflected words for
any language. A built-in 'inflection-generator' simplifies the addition
of these words. A 'Find' feature allows the modules to be used as
bilingual dictionaries.

Ready-made modules are already available for certain languages. You can
