Subject: [*] Chocoletters 1.2 a puzzle game

Chocoletters is a puzzle game. You have to find how the computer mixed
up 36 letters and figures in a 6 by 6 grid. To succeed you may ask for
paths leading from one letter to another. With several paths you can
deduce the positions of the letters. The score depends on the number of
paths and the time spent to finish.

Chocoletters should run on all of the 68020 Macintoshes and later with a
14' color screen or larger. But animations should be quite slow on old machines.

What's new in version 1.2 ?
- Asynchronous sounds that don't stop the game
- Less greenish chocolate bars
- Separate scores for the three levels of difficulty
- Separate scores for up to four players
- The learner mode warns about symmetrical errors
- Auto Paths mode enabled in the original settings
- Pictures more compressed in order to keep a small program
- An alternate background
- A small application to convert old scores
- and some other minor changes.

Chocoletters is a $10 US shareware.

Subject: [*] EZIndex 1.01

Announcing the release of the Mac-only utility for authors -- EZIndex!

File name......: EZIndex 1.01
Date of release: 4/10/99

What is EZIndex and EZIndex Maker?

In the olden days, when creating an index for a book, you'd read each
page of the manuscript. Each time you encountered a term or an idea that
you wanted to appear in the index, you'd write it down along with the
page number. When this process was finished, you'd painstakingly re-sort
your list into alphabetical order. Problem: Life is too short.

Today, many indexes are prepared by software, which generates an index
automatically from your word-processing file. Problem: This system
creates index entries only when the actual indexed word appears in the
text. If there are 5 pages on the history of the Macintosh, but the
actual words "Macintosh history" don't appear on each page, no entry is
created.

Solution: Use EZIndex! This pair of software tools gives you the
efficiency of a software-indexing robot, but the quality and control of a
by-hand indexer. If you, like many book authors, are charged for indexing
by your publisher, volunteer to do the index yourself. Using EZIndex can
save you thousands of dollars on a typical book!

"My publishers charge me thousands of dollars to create indexes for my
books," says David Pogue, author of the bestselling "The iMac for
Dummies" and "PalmPilot: The Ultimate Guide." "And their indexes aren't
always very good. With EZIndex, I can create my own absolutely terrific
indexes myself in an incredibly short time."

EZIndex is two software tools, corresponding to the two steps of creating
a high-quality index:

Step 1: EZIndex. This control panel lets you generate a list of terms as
you read your electronic manuscript. The touch of a hotkey grabs pieces
of text for indexing. As you go, you can define entries or sub-entries
for terms that don't necessarily appear in the text, too. EZIindex then
saves this information, with page numbers, to a file.

If you're working from printed pages, you may prefer to use EZIndex
Databaser, which lets you create index entries with as little typing as
possible.

Step 2: EZIndex Maker. Just drag the resulting EZIndex file onto this
application. In seconds, your fully formatted index - complete with
indented sub-entries, collated page numbers ("34-40"), and commas - is

Version 4.4.1 - Greatly improved the anti-aliasing code to better handle
light color text on a light color background, dark color text on a dark
background, and either light or dark colored text on a multi-colored
background. Fixed a bug where PandoCalendar would not enable the "Update"
button in the note dialog when only the label was changed. Replaced the
B/W picture of C.H. Spurgeon with a color one, and added his signature to
the dailies window.

Subject: [*] PowerSPrint V1.52

Use
PowerSPrint is a pair of AppleScript applications used to share an otherwise
"unsharable" printer on an AppleTalk (EtherTalk, LocalTalk) network. They
may be used "out-of-the-box" or opened and modified as wished.

Requirements
AppleScript, System 7.x or 8.x

How it Works
A client prints as if the printer were connected to one of its ports.
Instead of the Monitor application being launched, the PowerSPrint Client
application will be launched instead. It will transfer the file to the
server and remove it from your Spool folder. Once on the client machine, the
file will be printed to the printer.

History
V1.52 (10. Apr 99)
+ Fixed some client problems that occured when spool files already existed
in the spool folder, further setup of the client was not possible.
+ Fixed an "out of memory" error in the client.
+ Fixed operation with older System SW (7.6) on the server machine.

V1.50 (5. Apr 99)
+ Finally eliminated the need for clients to ever be brought to the
foreground.
+ Updated the info displays and cleaned up a lot of the code.
+ Added option to re-enter the user/password to connect.

This is version 3.6 of PrintUseMonitor.
(Shareware 10$US or 5 pounds UK.)

PrintUseMonitor monitors the pages printed on Quickdraw printers,
including all the StyleWriter series and LaserWriter 300 printer,
and displays a warning dialog when the print cartridge is about
to run out.

PrintUseMonitor displays a progress bar indicating the Print Cartridge
wear, supports many different languages, and will even predict the
date when your printer cartridge will run out, based on average use.

If you refill ink cartridges then this application is useful for
determining when to do this, or if you always replace your ink cartridge,
this application can help you to determine when to order a new cartridge.

Subject: [*] Snakey Math 1.0.1--practice math with arcade action

Snakey Math 1.0.1

Experience math in motion with classic arcade action! Snakey Math allows one
to four students to play and learn together at one computer with lots of
color, sound, and voice action at any screen resolution. Computer-controlled
opponents eat any nearby number, keeping players on their toes and getting the
screen crawling with a total of up to eight snakes on the move.

Snakey Math provides superior math drills with gradual elimination of
incorrect choices, rather than simply flashing the correct answer and moving
on. This design creates a more complete learning experience, allowing
students to continue looking for the correct solution to each problem.

A wide variety of math problems are possible with flexible settings of
operations and operands, including negative numbers and decimals. The math
settings offer mixed drills for more variation, and even multiple operations
per problem are supported to help students practice the order of operations.

Mac OS 7.0 or later
4 Megabytes of free RAM
68020 or higher processor or PowerPC
Speech Manager with "Hysterical" and "Albert" voices recommended but not
required.

The unregistered software enables all game features but limits math problems
to multiplication of operands in the range of -12 x - 6 to 12 x 6.

concepts that need to be fully understood before tackling more complex
systems.
