Subject: [*] CopyPaste 4.3.1

CopyPaste is the shareware utility that was awarded a 5
mouse rating by MacUser and was their shareware utility of
the year 1996. Shareware Junkies declared it Mac Product
of the year for 1997. CopyPaste also appeared in the June 97
Wired and has been featured in MacWeek, TidBits, MacAddict and
many other magazines. CopyPaste magnifies the clipboard in many
different ways and has been declared indespensible by web developers,
editors, writers, dtp professionals and everyone who uses
the clipboard.

CopyPaste is available online and can be downloaded free at:
http://www.scriptsoftware.com
it is also on the major shareware archives and AOL.

One of the early wonders of the Mac was its revolutionary ability to do
copy and paste across various applications. Unlike other areas in the Mac's
system software that have changed and progressed over the years, copying
and pasting has not evolved. How many times have you found yourself going
back and forth copying in one application and pasting in a different
application, wishing to yourself that you could copy 5-10 items at a time,
then go to another application and paste each of these items. Now you can
do not only this but view all 100 clipboards, save useful text and pictures
thru restarts and much much more.

**MacOS 8.5 compatible!
**Many advanced features but easy for beginners!
**Full Drag & Drop compatibility!
**Use up to 100 independent clipboards by menu or simple key commands!
**View and access all the clipboard using the CopyPaste Palette!
**Append text to 1 of 10 files on disk at any time!
**Process text, picture and net data on the Clipboards in many ways!
**Use a command key to switch and/or view all applications!
**Works great with iType, iSearch, iCount and iView Multimedia!
**New pop-up palette function and more!
**Clip Recorder - remembers the last 10 items copied via
command c.
**Clip Archive - copied data is appended to one of 10 text
files on disk.
**Save Clipboards thru Restarts - allows all 100 Clipboards
to be saved thru Shutdown or Restart.

CopyPaste eliminates tedious repetitive work and increases
your ability to get the job done.

Subject: [*] CronoTask 1.1.0 68k

Cronotask is like the Unix cron utility, but natively written on Mac and
with a true Mac interface.
This program allows to specify an unlimited number of programs to launch
when your Mac server is unattended, with a very easy and fast to use
interface.
All the tasks to launch are listed in a table, with a double click on a row
you can define in details how many times and when to launch the referred
task (program, document, applet) selecting it from the HD, and using for
the schedule a daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly plan.
Using Cronotask you can assign the tasks your Mac can perform for a whole year.
Interface of Cronotask is simply amazing.
It was realized taking full advantage of the new elements of apparence
Manager available under System 8 (works also under Sys 7 using the new
appearance control panel and extension).
Using Cronotask is absolutely easy and fast, in few minutes you can setup
your server automatic tasks.
No code to digit or cripting language and code to learn (and forget),
Cronotask uses Mac controls to specify parameters .It's not a unix porting,
it's a true Macintosh program!
When you look at a panel to specify a task you don't need to read manuals !
Cronotask is really a 'control station' for your Mac, using it you can run
any maintenance task you like during the night, when your Mac is unattended
without having to stop services during the day.
Cronotask it's Mac only and this new version 1.1 as a finder like interface
you'll love!

Subject: [*] Extension Overload v3.4

Extension Overload is an essential guide to help Mac users understand and
manage their extensions and control panels. With reviews for 1333
extensions and control panels, Extension Overload is the definitive
reference for both new and experienced Mac users.

Extension Overload has a self-reading format with a search function and
table of contents to help navigate the guide. Items are listed
alphabetically with detailed explanations in plain English. Extension
Overload covers System 7, 7.5 and 7.6; Mac OS 8, 8.1 and 8.5 and iMac.

Extension Overload also contains information about Mac system error
codes, Easter Eggs, ways to make your Mac go faster, Mac updates,
keyboard shortcuts and other useful information.

Why use Extension Overload?

Extension Overload can help you:
*resolve system crashes
*resolve extension conflicts
*conserve RAM
*conserve hard drive space
*understand extensions and control panels
*understand the Mac OS

Extensions and control panels add the functionality of the Macintosh
operating system. There are hundreds of extensions and control panels
files however, unnecessary extensions and control panels waste hard drive
space and consume RAM thus slowing performance. Worse, some extensions
and control panels may conflict with others causing system crashes.
Extension Overload can help you select the extensions and control panels
you need and identify the items you don't need to keep your system folder
small and efficient.

Whether you're an experienced user or just curious about what extensions
and control panels do, Extension Overload is the essential guide for you.

Extension Overload is the definitive reference guide for all Mac users.

Subject: [*] FixWindowDrag - Japanese Version

FixWindowDrag - appearance added the ability to drag windows by anywhere on
the border. I didn't like it, since I was continually aiming for the
scroll-bar and accidentally moving the window instead. So I fixed it by
writing FixWindowDrag.
With this extension installed, you can only drag windows by the title bar,
just the way it's supposed to work. If you really need to drag using the
borders, you can hold down the option-key and it works (as long as you
don't miss and hide the application).
Written (in entirety) the waking period of 18. June, 1998 at MacHack 13.
Finally cleaned up and released to the general public. This is the Japanese
version.

Subject: [*] GLMStat 4.1.0;Generalized linear models

GLMStat is a Macintosh-based statistical program for analysing generalised
linear models. It provides a macintosh interface and includes many of the
features of other programs. Features of GLMStat are

 - spreadsheet style data entry
 - Normal, Poisson, Binomial and Gamma models with appropriate links and
specification of convergence and aliasing parameters
 - Scatter and Residual plots
 - Matrix scatterplots
 - Box and Whisker plots
 - Frequency distribution histograms
 - Descriptive statistics.
 - Output of deviance, parameter estimates, residuals and parameter
correlations
 - Saving of data files complete with all model specifications.
 - printing of data, graph and results.
 - Missing values
 - Online Help (under the apple menu) and a brief User Manual.
 - includes example data files for most examples in two of the texts.
 - Individual licences available for $US20. Site licences $US150. World
site licence $US450. Payment in $US through Kagi Shareware.
 - Registration includes free upgrades to version 5.x

Unregistered copies are fully functional except that Save and Save As are
disabled and there are some limitations on usage.

Version 4.1.0
 - sequential fitting
 - t-tests, Wilcoxon and sign tests
 - subset command to allow logical definition of subsets eg sex=2
 - empirical logit transform for Scatter and Matrix graphs with Binomial errors
 - split Define dialog into two dialogs creating Fit Options dialog which
contains settings not defining the generalised linear model
 - made a lot of changes to the Graphing routines to make sure everything
is in the right place and there are no cosmetic problems. Changed plotted
symbol sizes slightly and added new very small symbol size
 - vertical axis label in graphs should now print as rotated text on
postscript printers not as a bitmap
 - fixed bug which caused display errors or crash when importing text and
too many errors
 - improved behaviour of graphs when data is changed by hiding them and
then redrawing only when graph is shown and checking that graph contains
columns which were changed

Subject: [*] GXGraphics - Japanese Version

GXGraphics - some applications need the GXGraphics Extension installed in
order to function correctly. Other applications (a few Desktop Publishing
packages are the most common offenders) refuse to run if this extension is
installed. This used to mean that you'd have to reboot your Mac to switch
between applications, which isn't very friendly behavior. GXMask is a
Control Panel which lets you hide the existance of the GXGraphics Extension
from all applications other than ones you select (a list of applications
which are known to need GXGraphics is included). This allows you to have
GXGraphics installed, and happily use applications which would normally
refuse to run with it installed. In all the cases I've tested, this has
proven safe, since those applications don't call GXGraphics, so the fact
that it's installed would have little effect on them anyhow. Do Not use
GXMask with the full QuickDraw GX installation. It will keep GXPrinting
from functioning correctly. GXMask is only intended for use with GXGraphic
 1.1.6 or later.

Subject: [*] MacSoftIndex 1,0

MacSoftIndex is NOT an application but a Text File containing a
tab-delimited Database (meaning that each line is a record and this
record is divided by tabs into fields - a format readily importable into
a good number of commonly used applications) which contains information
on thousands of programs for Macintosh computers. These programs are
mainly available as Shareware/Freeware but there is also some less well
known commercial software. Well-known commercial software is not
represented in this version and neither is standard system software as
you already have it!

Apart from general information such as what kind of software it is
(control panel, stack, application, etc), size, dates, and so forth,
there is usually a description of what it does and a reference to what
realm of operation (system, text, image, sound, etc) together with a
subclass of this reference (conversion, print, catalogue, etc), thus
providing many possibilities of selection.

How could you possibly not have the only product which lists from A to
Z nearly all the software there is for the Mac?
Download the shareware sample now and try it!

Enclosed is the latest version of Malph. If you have any old versions on
your server, please replace them with this one. The enclosed file is a
compressed, self-mounting disk image, so just double-click it to open the
image on your desktop.

Use Malph to switch between applications and to quickly launch commonly used
applications. To switch to another app, click on the application icon in
Malph. Malph also has a small indicator showing what process is currently
frontmost, which updates if you click in application windows to switch
between processes.

New with Malph 3.0 is the ability to create and manage multiple Malph
windows (documents). Other enhancements include a completely revamped
interface, support for deep icons (available when running Mac OS 8.5 and
later) and Contextual Menus. Take a look at the README HTML file included
for a list of major features that have been included in Malph 3.0.

Malph 3.0 requires PowerPC-based Macintosh running Mac OS 8 or later,
although it works best when running on Mac OS 8.5 or later.

Malph 3.0 is Shareware, which means if you use it you must pay US$12. Check

MergePICTs is a simple utility that combines the hundreds of PICT files that
some 3D renderers export into a single PICT and mask for use with Sprite
Animation Toolkit (http://www.lysator.liu.se/~ingemar/sat.html).

This tool was programmed for my own puposes and to help ease my insanity
with Ray Dream's lack of file formats. It requires that all the images
be PICTs and that the file names look like this: blahblah01 blahblah02
blahblah03 etc. Of course instead of blahblah you have some "descriptive"
name.

If you dislike either of these requirements than you are free to modify it,
the download includes source code. If you make any good improvements to it

Subject: [*] Search & Rescue

Search & Rescue is a tool for recovering work from memory after a crash.
The most likely scenario in which you may need Search & Rescue is if you
suffer from a crash (either application or system) while working on a typed
document, and you lose some or all of you text. It is likely that the text
is still there, somewhere, in memory, but with no way to get at it, you are
stuck! This is where Search & Rescue comes in. You simply enter a portion
of text, which you know to exist in your document, and Search and Rescue
will locate possible places in memory where you may be able to salvage your
text - either in part or, if you're lucky, in full. Search & Rescue can be
recover text after a complete system restart.

Requirements:

Search & Rescue provides support for modern operating system features such
as the appearance manager but also runs well on older, pre-Mac OS 8
systems, with at least System 7. Search & Rescue runs best with at least
1200K of memory allocated to it but, on machines with a limited amount of
RAM, 600K will be sufficient for performing searches and saving recovered
text.

subsequent restarts, these items will be skipped.

Installation is easy as StartOnce will create the "StartOnce Items"
folder for you the first time it is run. All you have to do is to
decide which items you want launched once a day and place aliases to
them in this folder. Put an alias to StartOnce in your "Startup Items"

folder and you are ready to rock-and-roll.

Use it whenever you want to do something only once a day. I use
StartOnce on my Mac, in combination with Roland Gustafsson's
free (ThankYouWare) 'SimpleBackup' utility to make a copy of my
