Lurk Webcam browser 3.9 abstract

What is it?
As the name states, it's a webcambrowser. Use it the keep up to date
with the NasDaq, or your favorite personal webcam.

Why?
Basicly this program is my first effort in programming with RealBasic.
See http://www.realsoftware.com/ for details.

Version history:

Lurk 3.9
- New option to watch cam(s) in 'normal' seperate window.
- New option to force reload of picture in seperate window.
- Fixed a bug that caused Lurk to crash when leaving it running for
several hours.
- Fixed a bug that prevented changes made in the list of bookmarks to be
saved correctly.
- Cleaned up code to make the program respond faster.

Lurk 3.8
- Now you can open a webcam in a window which will stay 'on top'. Even
if you open other programs.
- Made the main window more compact

Lurk 3.7
- Never released. Only in development.

Lurk 3.6
- A bookmarkfile to add or delete your own bookmarks

Licence

Lurk Webcam browser is distributed "as is". This means it is freeware!
Basicly you can do whatever you like with it. If you like the program
I'd like to hear from you. Send an email to the address listed below.
Use the same address for any bugreports.

>Would it really be that hard to make one that does?

No; Disk Copy (included with your system software) akready does. Use
the Create Image from Folder (command-J). I understood you wanted a
folder to be treated as a volume ("soft partition"); that's a different
animal.

>Why would it be a bad idea anyway? What makes it possible on a PC but not
>on a Mac? It's not like I'm going to attempt to reformat a folder.

If you just want to make an image from a folder, that's one thing. If
you want a "soft partition," though, that's another. Soft partitions,
from my limited understanding, lack many of the attributes and
safeguards of "real" partitions, and it was user experience (aka
"pain") that caused them to be labelled as a bad idea.

>I guess I'll just go and make a bunch of disk images, as I see no other
>alternative. I better get ready to weed out 48MB of stuff (to make room for
>the disk images while the folder is there also).

Once you've created a disk image from the folder, you don't need to
keep the original folder too, so you wouldn't really be using
significant extra space (maybe a little for Disk Copy overhead).
Cheers,
