Subject: [*] CDFinder 3.0.1 68k

CDFinder is a very fast and powerful tool to create catalog files of your hard
disks, floppies, ZIP's and anything else that spins. It has a great user
interface and very useful search functions. CDFinder supports drag&drop and
requires at least a 68020 or PowerPC CPU. While System 7 is required, CDFinder
is also fully compatible to MacOS 9.1. A special feature is the
multi-lingual user
interface (German/French/English/Italian/Swedish/Chinese).
http://www.cdfinder.de

Now there is also a version for windows: <http://www.cdwinder.de>

CDFinder 3.0 uses a new powerful catalog file format that will
contain a lot of additional information. So far, every item in a
catalog can have a comment and CDFinder can also read the version
info for files.

This file requires a 68k Macintosh.

Subject: [*] LockOut 2.1.1J - Japanese Version

This is the Japanese version of the LockOut package.

Rated 4 stars at ZDNet!
Rated 5 Dudes (highest rating) by FileDudes!

LockOut is a simple application to help keep people from using your Mac
while youƘre away. LockOut helps keep your Mac safe from co-workers
while at the office, and from your kids while at home.

Once LockOut is activated, all anyone will see on your Mac is the LockOut
security screen:

*A valid password must first be entered to access your Mac
*Messages can be left by others
*Create your own custom voice warning
*Easily activated with a customizable hot key
*Activate automatically after a pause time
*Monitor security warnings from anywhere via e-mail.
*And more...

Here's what people say about LockOut:

*I'm a writer, tv mainly, and I drag my G3 lap-top around hotels and
studios all over the country (UK). LockOut is a beautiful programme.
Nice and simple, and simply keeps prying eyes off my scripts. --
      Leslie S.
*I really like the product. It saved me a lot of grief while I was on
vacation and didn't want people "messing" in my files. One person here
has the touch-of-death on computers and I wanted to make sure he didn't
kill mine! I am recommending LockOut to others. Thanks again. --
      Christine L.
*I think that (LockOut) is great since living alone and an
artist/businessman with a maid service that has access to my apartment
room here affords the paranoia of wondering if anyone might be accessing
info. or tampering with my PowerMac while I am away at work. --
      Jerry B.
*I'm finding (LockOut) very useful - nothing like having a simple thing
that does its job well and easily. --
      Jan A. W.

Changes in version 2.1.1:

*Added "Alert via eMail" option to the Settings. All security messages can now
be emailed.

Subject: [*] PubMedMakerII 3.7

PubMedMakerII is a bibliographic software for Macintosh users who are
familiar with PubMed <http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/>: a free
on-line MEDLINE. PubMedMakerII automatically transfers PubMed text data
to FileMakerPro file. PubMedMakerII also makes Reference list with rich
text format (RTF), HTML format, or plain text. You can easily arrange it
to fit the journal's format to which you are going to contribute.

What's new in this version (Version 3.7, Jan 10, 2001)
1. Duplicate records delete function: You can delete duplicate records
at once by duplicate records delete button.
2. Improvement of Reference setup: You can set issue number and
delimitors without space in the Reference list. The pop-up menus of
delimitor and font are editable.
3. IGMconverter 1.1: IGMconverter 1.0 included in PubMedMakerII 3.6
makes the first empty record if Internet Explorer is used to download
data from Internet Grateful Med. This conversion error is fixed in
IGMconverter 1.1.
4. Removal of trial period of 60 days: A splash screen appears after
unregistered use of 60 days, but limitation of usage is eliminated.

System Requirements
FileMakerPro 3.0 or later.

"QuoEdit mini", a little version of plain text editor "QuoEdit", is for
use on small system of Mac OS 7 or later, created as only 68K version.
It's free.

This tiny application is still WorldScript savvy in editing and search,
supports four levels of undo and redo for each document, and has useful
shortcut keys. Enjoy it.

This version 1.0.2 adjusted the icon colors and fixed a bug of Save As
command. Also resolved a problem with some small systems.

Subject: [*] Wheel of the Teachings 2.0

"Wheel of the Teachings" is a gentle adventure game, incorporating
Buddhist teachings. As you walk through a painted landscape, your goal
is to find and collect all of the hidden wheels. Each wheel represents
one spoke of the Buddha's Noble EightfoldPath. For each 2 wheels you
discover, you will then be able to find one of the Four Noble Truths.
Along the way, you'll also find many of the Buddha's teachings, in the
form of suttas from the Pali Canon.

New in version 2.0
--all teachings are now from the Pali Canon, and are sourced

"Wheel of the Teachings" is made available for free, as a gift of Dhamma.

YP Atwood simulates a pulley (simple or double) driven by one or two
suspended masses. This program is designed to study the kinematics and the
dynamics of rotational motion with constant angular acceleration, and
linear motion with constant acceleration. During the animation, up to 5
vectors (position, velocity, acceleration, tension and weight) and up to 7
graphs (position, velocity, acceleration, angular position, angular
velocity, angular acceleration and energies vs time) can be displayed.

System Requirements: YP Atwood runs on any Macintosh computer with MAC OS
7.0 or later. It needs about 250 Kb on your hard disk and 1 Mb of RAM.

Try discarding the Quicken 2001 Preferences (System
Folder:Preferences:Quicken 2001 Preferences).

Discarding the Preferences (which can get corrupted) is sort of the
First Action to taken when any software starts acting goofy. Hope
this helps.

Subject: Using ATI Rage 128 in Pre-G3 Mac

My son picked up a Radeon PCI video card at MacWorld yesterday, so I have
the opportunity to pick up the OEM ATI video card from his blue and white G3
for my UMAX S900. I see from ATI's web site that their drivers don't
support the OEM card, nor does ATI tech support. Would anyone have
experience with installing this card in a non-G3 Mac? Any pitfalls to watch
out for? OS limitations? I'm using OS 8.1 for now.

As always, your assistance is much appreciated.
